  • finger.print. 2020
  • An attempt to make a book for a show about books. "bend-points" of an audio looping circuit circuit are exposed as braille script.

    Solar panels powered the device were salvaged from the destroyed bicycles left in the wake of the sudden collapse of several major bicycle sharing platforms in China. Sounds and text were provided by my friend Oleg Belavskiy.

  • A primitive patchable video synthesizer that weaves tapestries of mismatched framerates and interference patterns.
  • water writing. 2018.
  • A collection of open circuits on a flat surface patched together with water droplets. A chinese ink brush is used as the most sophisticated water dispenser out there.

  • 竹脑(zhu nao). 2023.
  • A ML powered instrument/interface for environmental improvisation inspired by the materials and geometries of Chinese carpentry.

    Initially conceived as an exploration of found objects and shapes, this project gradually shifted focus towards the idea of found environments (pockets of WLAN coverage, patches of exposed ground) using the combination of bamboo strips flex, ground moisture level and wifi signal strength as a means of sonic expression.

  • electric hurdy gurdy. 2020.
  • An autonomously (hand-cranked) powered drone box insipred by hurdy-gurdy (and that one video of Keiji Haino playing one), barrel organ and this particular medieval illustration.

    Layout was designed with the "rubber band automation" in mind.
